Hello! I’m Alexey, an award-winning director of photography and a proud graduate of the oldest film school in the world, the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in Moscow. I was born in London to a Russian Filipino family, which gave me a mixed background that shaped my taste and the way I look at images. I’m a cinematographer who cares about clear visual choices: strong contrast, meaningful colour and subtle camera movement. I focus on creating images that feel precise, unfussy and emotionally direct. My approach is collaborative, practical and built around giving each project a distinct visual identity, driven by a steady search for taste and style that feels genuine rather than decorative.
